How did that happen? I’m a Weblog Finalist!
I nominated myself for a Weblog award. I was just following instructions; the website said not to be shy. Anyway, Soccer Dad informed me that A Mother in Israel is one of ten finalists in the category of Middle Eastern and African blogs. My kids said it’s not such a big deal because how many English blogs are there in this part of the world, anyway? I guess my kids have never heard of South Africa.
I really am honored because this puts me in the same category, but not the same league, as some famous bloggers including Michael Totten, Dry Bones, Iraq the Model, and Treppenwitz.

Let’s hope I won’t be embarrassed too badly.
Update: I ended up in fifth place with 5.4%, and I’m not disappointed in the slightest.

Never mind. I had been trying in Firefox and it didn’t work, but it worked fine in Explorer.

Good luck! I always appreciate your advice, and especially the fact you comment on other people’s blogs when you think you can be helpful.
I’m going to visit your archives right now to see if you have any advice for people who do wish to breastfeed longer than 12 months. I’ll be in Israel for 6 months, starting in Jan, and I want to continue to bf after my daughter’s first birthday (Jan. 7) to help prevent illness from her exposure to new germs.

I’ll have to think about that, but the best thing is to hang out with other mothers who have nursing experience with children at least six months older than yours.
