Judaica

Looking for a special gift for a wedding or bar or bat mitzvah, or a unique Jewish item for your home? I browsed the Judaica Web Store and picked out a few favorites.

For a gift for a baby boy, I love this exquisite paper cut by David Fisher, containing the biblical blessing by Moses of his sons Ephraim and Menashe. Available in a variety of colors.

For a baby girl, I would choose Daughter’s Blessing: Yair Emanuel Wall Hanging, decorated with pomegranates and tassels. It contains the text of the traditional blessing, asking God to watch over one’s daughters as he did over the four matriarchs: Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah.

The site has a wide variety of Chanukah menorahs (chanukiot) in different budgets. Here are my favorites:

The multi-coloured “Wall” by Agayof. It can be dismantled and stored in a small box when not in use.

Building Bridges, by Laura Cowan, is more dramatic, but also has a modern, colorful design.

If you are looking for a something more traditional, try this gold-plated replica of an early 20th century chanukiah from the Israel Museum.

These sterling silver candlesticks make a really special wedding gift, that the couple will appreciate for years to come.

You can also books on general Jewish topics, as well as a wide range of prayer books, children’s books, reference books, and classic texts like the Koren Jerusalem Bible in Hebrew with a modern English translation.

There is jewelry to suit every taste, like this black stack necklace by Hagar Satat.
